Frequently asked questions about Antlers Lodge:
How far are you from Yellowstone National Park?
We are located in Cooke City, Montana and we are 4 miles from the northeast gate of the park.
How many days do I need to see everything in the park?
The Park is enormous and there are many things that will draw your attention. If you only have a few days, we can help you with suggestions on "must see" attractions. However, if you have a week or more, it is wise to spend a few days at our end (north end) of the park to see the sights close to us and then to move down to lodging in West Yellowstone or in the Park to see the southern area. This eliminates a long drive back to your hotel each day.
What is there to do in Cooke City?
Cooke City is a quaint mountain town with 2 gas stations, around 7 lodging facilities, 5 or 6 restaurants, a couple of gift shops, and is located right in the middle of a huge playground for many activities. Our visitors are nature lovers and they come to sight see, hike, backpack, fly fish and animal watch. We are located on Highway 212 at the bottom of Beartooth Pass, which attracts many motorists and is a popular route for motorcyclists each summer. There are also many day hikes to waterfalls and other sights that can be tailored to a few hours or all day long, right from the door of your cabin.
What do the cabins have in them?
The cabins are equipped with everything you will need; bedding, linens, towels, (for cabins with kitchens) dishes, silverware, cookware. The kitchens include a 4-burner stove w/oven, refrigerator, kitchen sink, toaster, coffee maker (and coffee), dish soap and towels. All of the cabins and rooms are serviced by housekeeping each day; beds made, towels replaced and trash emptied.
Is there a barbecue grill?
There is a centrally located gas barbecue grill (propane – which we supply) available to our guests. We also have several picnic tables located in various places.
